Beach

 

Sandy or pebble beaches, small coves or wide bays, the Côte d’Azur has 40 km. to choose from.

Most beaches are public, but you will also find (approx.) 150 private beaches, some of which are veritable institutions. These private beaches are very lively with a host of water sports.

 

Golfing

 

From Nice, Monaco, Mandelieu-La Napoule or Cannes… whatever your port on the coast, you are less than half an hour from an excellent golf course.

Signed off by some of the most famous course designers (Robert Trent Jones, Don Harradine, Bob van Hagge…), these courses, of all levels, have all the conditions for your favorite sport.

 

LE PROVENCAL GOLF - BIOT

9 hole golf ocurse (2520 m) gently ondulating in the heart of the old trees of Sophia-Antipolis. Wonderfull panoramic vews overt the southern alps. MONTE-CARLO GOLF CLUB - LA TURBIE
A mountain course alongside the sea, 900m high overlooking the Mediterranean region.
    

GOLF COUNTRY CLUB DE NICE - NICE
The Golf Country Club of Nice is a 9 holes compact. Driving range: 32 covered places. Pro-shop and restaurant.
    

GOLF DE LA TOUR D'OPIO - OPIO
This course is located within the very confines of the village. The quality and care of the site won over beginners and experienced players alike. Cabell - B. Robinson, architect.

 

MARINA GOLF CLUB - PRACTICE GOLF CENTER - NICE
The Practice Golf Center - Marina Golf Club proposes 2 putting-greens. Driving range: 30 places, 15 on green, 1 bunker.

GOLF DE LA GRANDE BASTIDE - CHATEAUNEUF DE GRASSE
Situated on the commune of Opio, this course completed in 1990 (6,105 m, par 72) belongs to the Open Golf Club. It's however opened to th general public and proposes a wide variety of golfing pleasures. It's the work of the giftest pupil of Robert Trent Jones, Cabell Robinson. The fairways are wide, the greens well-protected, numerous bunkers follow the course, and there are several lakes. The staggering of departures will please players of all levels. Superb panoramic views of neighbouring villages.
    

GOLF OLD COURSE CANNES-MANDELIEU - MANDELIEU LA NAPOULE
This 18-hole course (5,749 m, par 71) and its 9-hole course (2,118 m, par 33) are the oldest in the Alpes-Maritimes. Created in 1891, it enjoys great renown and constantly increases the number of its high-level events and competitions. Superb links set against a background of century-old parasol pines, with wide fairways, undulating greens, these two courses lack neither charm nor technical difficulties. Sheer delight fo all golf enthusiasts. Typically picturesque: the river-crossing required to gain access to hole n°3.
    

GOLF DU CLAUX-AMIC - GRASSE
This magnificient 18. hole offers a compromise between lenght and accuracy. From start to finish the views are breathtaking, over the Big Blue or up into the mountains. Pause for a moment on the twelfth hole : the Lerins stands are just beneath your feet.M. Fourrès, architecte.
    

GOLF COUNTRY CLUB DE SAINT-DONAT - GRASSE
The gently ondulating course, enhanced by bends, obstacles, rivers and lakes, with faiways bordered by century-old trees, forms a complex that is unique on the French Riviera.(Architecte : Robert Trent Jones Jr)
    

RIVIERA GOLF DE BARBOSSI - MANDELIEU LA NAPOULE
Signed by the american Robert Trent Jones Senior, this very technical course isn't very wide, 5,513 m, par 71. It contains several difficulties, notably on certain approaches to the greens which are hard to negociate. Quiet game in the first part with the return decidedly more demanding. Watch out for: the architectural quality of the installations.
    

GOLF D'OPIO-VALBONNE - OPIO
Between Cannes, Nice and Grasse, this 18 holes course set in the heart of a 220 hectares property shaded by century old trees, is one of the jewels of the Riviera. Donald Harradine, architect.
    

GOLF DE BIOT - BIOT
The golf of Biot (4,511 m, par 67) is one of the Riviera's oldest courses. The fairways gently succeed each other, with calm and untroubled play to look forward to. A pleasant golfing experience for all players. Without many difficulties, you will find here a course full of rustic and romantic charm. Warm welcome ensured. A good dose of fresh air.
    

VICTORIA GOLF CLUB - VALBONNE SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS
A technical and hilly course which presents some difficulties. In a high calibre forest setting. Quality restaurants on site. Worth the detour.

GOLF ACADEMY - SOPHIA COUNTRY CLUB - BIOT
The Sophia Country Club proposes 2 putting-greens (18 holes/9 holes), 1 chipping green with bunkers and back tee, 1 covered driving range + greens with 31 postes. Lessons on level, adults and children.
    

GOLF DE VILLENEUVE-LOUBET - VILLENEUVE LOUBET
Many changes and improvements happened in the club last year : the new school is very promising. The golf course being extended. A new "chef" cooking for you nice and traditional dishes.

 

Biking

 

All along the coast, numerous cycle paths have been developed so you can enjoy the Mediterranean landscapes to the max.

And if you don’t have a bike, no worries…It’s easy to hire a Vélo Bleu, from Nice to Cagnes-sur-Mer, in particular, with the Baie des Anges as a backdrop! 

 

 

Hiking

 

The perfect coastline for jogging, hiking, paragliding in Roquebrune, walks and picnics in its different departmental parks...
